"GOH2O!" Challenge Art Winners

During this past school year, 95 LA's BEST sites participated in the GOH2O Challenge sponsored by The American Chemistry Council. 

The American Chemistry Council's (ACC's) mission is to deliver business value through exceptional advocacy using best-in-class member performance, political engagement, communications and scientific research. LA's BEST and The ACC began the "GOH2O Challenge" partnership in 2009 to teach younger generations about the importance of recycling and keeping plastics out of the environment.

Chris Paul & 3,000 Kids Walk It Out!

Imagine getting to work out with role-model and All-Pro Chris Paul, as he prepares for the upcoming NBA season. For 3,000 lucky kids in the LA’s BEST After School Program, today was a dream come true.

For the third year in a row, Chris Paul’s CP3 Foundation and LA’s BEST partnered to put on a day of fun in the sun to teach kids and their families healthy ways to eat, drink, play and live.

LA's BEST Students Turn Into Chefs for National Nutrition Month

To kick off Spring and National Nutritional Month, LA’s BEST students learned to make healthy pizza and green smoothies with got milk? and former Disney TV chef Gino Campagna.

Thirty LA’s BEST students from Griffin Avenue Elementary donned aprons, kneaded pizza dough, concocted green smoothies and learned that cooking healthy foods can be fun, messy and delicious when they participated in a hands-on cooking class thrown by got milk? and Chef Gino Campagna, former host of the Disney show, “Gino’s Kitchen.”

The Dance of Tennis

Over the past couple weeks, site coordinators from 21 LA's BEST sites were selected to join the Dance of Tennis and ultimately start tennis programs as their induvidual sites.

The purpose of The Dance of Tennis training is to introduce tennis to children in a revolutionary, exciting new way-a way that children love, but that also promotes nonviolence and teaches valuable life skills at the same time.
