Casino Night

LA's BEST Casino Night, held on the rooftop at the Marina del Rey Marriott, helped LA's BEST to raise $39,755. More than 350 people joined LA's BEST Friends for a night of gambling, music featuring Frez! and Malakai, and food and drinks to support the LA's BEST After School Enrichment Program. Attendees gambled to win exciting raffle prizes like two round trip tickets on American Airlines and a flight over Los Angeles.

19th Annual Dance & Drill Team Showcase

Over two weekends at California State University, Los Angeles, 165 LA's BEST sites competed in the 19th Annual Dance & Drill Team Showcase. Students performed dance and drill team routines from military style to hip-hop to salsa. Students had a blast performing and cheering eachother on! Help support important programming like dance and drill team and make a donation today.

Designers of Tomorrow

As a part of Brit Week 2010, designer Christopher Guy hosted an Angeleno Magazine sponsored event at his showroom in Beverly Hills with a silent auction that benefited LA's BEST. Winning student artwork from the Designers of Tomorrow workshop and contest were showcased at the event. Winners received generous cash prizes thanks to Christopher Guy and the grand prize winner won suite tickets to Smucker's Stars on Ice at Staples Center thanks to Angeleno and AEG!

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden Visits LA's BEST

Charles F. Bolden, the head of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), visited with LA's BEST students at Gratts Elementary, demonstrated what it was like to be in space and answered questions about his experience as an astronaut. He also stressed the relevance and importance of science in young people's lives and how they could turn their interest in science into a future career.

Actor's Outreach Improv Workshop at Bang

David Henrie and Peter Murrieta of Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place teamed up once again to host the second Actors Outreach workshop for LA's BEST students at Murrieta's bang Improv Studio. Students from Grant Elementary participated in an exciting afternoon of confidence building improv activities led by Ezra Weisz and joined by the stars of their favorite television shows!
