Mattel creates Winter Wonderland for LA's BEST

December 13, 2012

Thursday, December 13, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., at Mattel Headquarters Lawn

Hundreds of underserved local children from LA’s BEST have magical experiences highlighting the importance of play during Mattel’s 12 Days of Play

Eight hundred Mattel employees and 400 Los Angeles elementary school children will team up to break the Guinness World Record for most snowmen built in one hour – using 220 tons of snow. Along with special guests WWE superstar The Miz and WWE Diva Eve, teams will race against the clock to build 1,500 snowmen in 60 minutes or less to beat the current World Record of 1,279 snowmen.

Following the Challenge, hundreds of children from underserved communities in the Los Angeles area will enjoy unique play experiences, including sledding, opportunities to race Hot Wheels cars down a 40-foot track, taking photos with Barbie, and meeting Mr. And Mrs. Claus.  The Challenge is the final – and largest – of seven “Winter Wonderland” events that bring snow to children at local elementary schools and organizations, Dec. 3 – 13.
